PepsiCo launched a domestic market-inspired flavour for China in 2022 with this Pepsi White Pomelo and Green Bamboo.
The beverage was semi-translucent dark brown, with a subtle citrus twist to the usual sweet cola notes and moderate carbonation. Served chilled, the pomelo notes emerged immediately at the start of each sip with its signature mild acidity and refreshing juicy sweetness, while the subtly grassiness of green bamboo bolstered the crispness of the flavour. These notes dominated each sip into the body and gave way to the usual notes of cola in the second half. The bubbles cleared the palate in the finish and left gentle and fresh notes of pomelo lingering shortly in the aftertaste. The sweetness was well restrained and, together with the green bamboo, allowed the pomelo notes to shine. We enjoyed this limited edition flavour immensely.
