This is the Hung Fook Tong Lychee and Star Fruit with Osmanthus Flavoured Drink. It consisted of a white tea base flavoured with juice concentrates from lychee and star fruit as well as osmanthus.
The beverage was a translucent brown-red hue with a sweet aroma reminiscent of a lychee black tea.
Upon tasting, the lychee notes were immediately evident, offering a tropical floral sweetness that complemented the underlying floral notes from the osmanthus and white tea base. However, the lychee flavour was less pronounced than expected, overshadowed by the sweet-sour taste of the star fruit. This resulted in a heavier mouthfeel than anticipated, contrasting with the typically lighter floral tones of lychee. As each sip neared its finish, the sweetness and acidity diminished, allowing the dewy floral essence of the osmanthus and the smoothness of the white tea to shine through. Despite the initial sweetness, the beverage left only a subtle astringency in the aftertaste; however, it fell short of being truly refreshing and worth repurchasing.
