This is the Kikkoman Soy Milk Drink Fruits Sando, containing at least 4% soybean solids and strawberry extract sourced from Poland.
The drink had an opaque beige colour with a faint strawberry aroma. When consumed chilled, it immediately evoked the flavour of Japan’s popular strawberry cream fruit sandwiches. The sweetness of the cream stood out, complemented by a slightly thicker mouthfeel (compared to the 2% soybean solid varieties in the range). The fruity sweetness and subtle sourness of ripe strawberries balanced well with the creaminess. While the flavour effectively captured the essence of a strawberry cream fruit sandwich and was interesting to try, it wasn’t one we’d repurchase in favour of a more refreshing option.
