Baixiang Lychee Black Tea

This is the Baixiang Lychee Black Tea, made with lychee juice concentrate.

The beverage had a translucent golden-brown hue and a distinctly fragrant fruity aroma of black tea and lychee. On tasting, the lychee flavour was immediately evident, delivering a juicy, somewhat sugary sweetness. Mid-sip, the black tea introduced a formidable astringency with a restrained bitterness, which persisted into the finish, while the lychee notes lingered subtly in the aftertaste. The muskier lychee flavour, though not overly perfumed, was reminiscent of lychee peel-scented black tea popular in Guangdong, China. While enjoyable, it was a bit too sweet, and the flavour wasn’t compelling enough for us to repurchase.

This Baixiang Lychee Black Tea contained 450 mL. It was produced in China and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
