The beverage has a sweet-sour lemon aroma much like lemonade and a moderate carbonation. Consumed chilled, delicate floral notes of the elderflower came through at the head of each sip before the lightly acidic notes of lemon emerge with a prominent sweetness. With the ‘sugar-free’ aspect coming from the addition of stevia, this kombucha lacked the characteristic acidity of natural kombucha and brought with it a slight bitterness in the finish before a clean aftertaste.
