This is the Suntory Iyemon Yuzu Scented Green Tea, made using green tea from Kyōto’s Fukujuen tea house amd flavoured with yuzu peel.
The tea had a clear golden yellow hue with a fragrant, sweet aroma reminiscent of yuzu flowers. When consumed at room temperature, the yuzu flavour was softer and more subdued than its aroma suggested. From the first sip, the yuzu introduced a subtle floral citrus undertone, followed by the grassy and lightly toasted notes of green tea, with the slightest hint of astringency and bitterness. Mid-sip, the fragrant yuzu notes returned, elegantly enhancing the green tea’s flavour and leading to a fresh finish. The delicate richness of the yuzu complemented the smooth green tea base without overpowering it, making it a sugar-free beverage worth repurchasing.
