This is the Nespresso Limited Edition Almond Croissant Flavour, a festive release for the 2024 holiday season, created in collaboration with world-renowned chef Jean Imbert.
The coffee features a 100% Arabica base blend, combining naturally sweet beans from Brazil with lively, washed beans from Colombia. The beans underwent a split roast: the majority of the Colombian beans were roasted medium-dark and quickly to enhance their finer aromatics, while the Brazilian coffee was lightly roasted for longer to develop a velvety texture. The almond and vanilla flavours were added after roasting.

The capsules came in a beige design adorned with a gold stitch pattern. As a flavoured coffee, it did not carry an intensity rating.

Prepared as a long black, the coffee had a translucent dark brown hue with mellow, understated notes of almond extract. Served black with a 1:1 water-to-espresso ratio, it opened with noticeable bitterness and mellow acidity, complemented by vanilla notes reminiscent of dark caramel. As it developed on the palate, the roasted notes deepened, combining to evoke the buttery essence of a croissant, with roasted almond notes lingering in the aftertaste.
As a cappuccino, following Nespresso’s recommendations, the milk masked the initial acidity, softened the bitterness, and rounded out the roasted notes, creating a smooth and well-balanced flavoured coffee.
Compared to previous almond-flavoured limited releases from Nespresso, this version featured an almond flavour closer to almond extract than the warm, nutty roasted almond profile of Frosted Caramel Nut, while maintaining a smoother, less sharp almond essence than in Paris Macaron. Overall, it was an enjoyable flavoured coffee, whether served as a long black or a cappuccino.
This Nespresso Limited Edition Almond Croissant Flavour contained 49 g (10 capsules). It was produced in Switzerland and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
