This Lupicia Pineapple Barley Tea is the last of the flavoured barley teas from Lupicia. With autumn making a slow transition from summer, we squeezed in one last barley tea before we return to them later in the year.
The infusion is in a tea bag containing barley scented with pineapple.
Steeping one 5 g teabag in 500 mL of cold water for two hours, the infusion was a clear brown colour with a mellow fresh pineapple aroma. Served chilled, the same hints of fresh pineapple with the slightest hint of sweetness came through before the ahead of the nutty notes of barley tea in the body. The pineapple notes return to pair beautifully with the nutty barley notes to recall caramelised pineapple before receding to a nutty finish and a clean aftertaste.
This Lupicia Pineapple Barley Tea contained 10 x 5 g tea bags. It tea was sourced from Japan, packaged in Japan, and purchased in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan in 2015.
