This is the Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane. It’s a decaffeinated green tea that’s part of their Holiday Tea line up.
Inspired by its namesake, Candy Cane Lane is a decaffeinated green tea flavoured with peppermint, vanilla and cinnamon.
Steeping one 2 g tea bag in 200 mL of water at 80ºC for 3 minutes, the tea was a clear golden brown colour with a minty aroma that was undeniably Christmas from the gentle spice of the cinnamon but also cloyingly sweet from the vanilla. Served hot, peppermint notes with a gentle sweetness came through at the head of each sip with a spiced hint from the cinnamon and a rounded and creamy mouthfeel lent by the subtle vanilla. Cooling peppermint notes lingered in the aftertaste with a gentle sweetness that recalled a candy cane without its sugary sweetness. Peppermint was the dominant flavour in this tea, with the presence of green tea an undetectable afterthought. As a peppermint tea, though, it was an enjoyable festive twist.
This Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane contained 20 tea bags or 39 g. It was produced in the United States and received as a gift from family visiting from the United States in 2022.
