Organic food is neither here nor there for me. The extremes of ‘healthy eating’ don’t resonate with me. To a certain extent, what matters is that the food tastes good and does some work to earn the price demanded. So I’m open to K’s suggestion of Ouroboros Organic Wholefoods in Surry Hills.
I have the Tasmanian smoked salmon, avocado, feta ($16.00) on toasted whole wheat soy linseed sourdough with a side of salad.
The sandwich innards are generous – the smoked salmon is piled as high as the sourdough, while the smashed avocado threatens to ooze out onto the plate between bites of tangy and salty feta. The ingredients are fresh, but the flavour of the sandwich is much too ordinary to warrant a $16.00 price tag. I’m not even sure I’d return if the sandwich was $8.00.
