Mixue Ice Cream & Tea has long been known for its cheap ice cream and bubble tea. We’ve long been sceptical about the quality, but to satisfy our curiosity, we decided to try their much-famed soft serve cone.
Mixue Soft Serve Cone ($2.00)
It was served in an impressively tall cone made from similar ingredients as the ‘cheap’ McDonald’s soft serve cones rather than a waffle cone. However, the soft serve only filled the part protruding from the top, leaving the interior of the cone hollow. The soft serve was very icy, requiring bites, and so firm that it could almost fall straight out of the cone, as it wasn’t anchored inside with more ice cream. Additionally, the soft serve had an intense milky flavour that lacked the creaminess and enjoyment of McDonald’s soft serve. Despite its visually impressive size, it was disappointing and not worth repurchasing.
