The Nature Fruit Tank was a food stall in the latter part of 2023 within Burwood Chinatown. Their main offering featured a complete pineapple, hollowed out on demand, its flesh transformed into a slushie, and then refilled into the pineapple shell, crowned with pineapple soft-serve ice cream.
Pineapple Soft Serve ($7.00). We opted for the soft serve instead of committing to a whole pineapple, considering it a more manageable choice. However, despite the stall’s specialization in fresh pineapple, the flavour of the soft serve was unexpectedly mild, with only subtle hints of pineapple discernible. It fell short of the vibrant sweetness typically associated with canned pineapple or pineapple juice. Although the texture was creamy and the portion was reasonable, it ultimately left us disappointed and we were relieved not to have chosen a larger portion from the other available items.
