This is the Nissin Foods Demae Iccho Spicy Curry.
Each package included a noodle cake and a soup base sachet. The curry soup base contained a powder mix with ingredients like onion, turmeric, coriander, fenugreek, fennel, and chilli. The noodles were prepared by adding them to 500ml of boiling water and cooking for 3 minutes while placing the soup base in a bowl. After removing the noodles from the heat, the hot water was poured into the bowl to dissolve the soup base, followed by the noodles, before stirring well and serving.
The curry soup base had a translucent golden yellow hue with a fragrant aroma reminiscent of Hong Kong-style curries. It offered a satisfying richness and depth from the variety of spices. However, despite its aromatic quality, the curry flavour lacked the “slight” heat promised on the packaging. The noodles had a good al dente texture, retaining their firmness even after sitting in the broth for a while. Although the soup base was thinner than the thicker curry flavours found in the styrofoam cup version or Daikoku Thick Curry Ramen, the noodles still absorbed the curry flavour well. However, the flavour was less rich, and there were no included toppings to add textural interest.
