This is the Mr Hamfrey’s Microwavable Pork Crackle Original.
They come in packaging similar to microwave popcorn. These were prepared by heating in the microwave for around 2 minutes. We found 1 minute and 45 seconds puffed them up a good amount.
These pork crackles have a savoury, slightly spiced aroma. Upon tasting, though, an overwhelming saltiness dominates every bite from start to finish as the pork crackles seem to have no flavour of their own. It’s enough to have us reaching for a drink after every piece. Texture-wise, though, they’re very light and crisp, which is in stark contrast to the firmer crunch and flavour of the Gold Medal Pork Crackles.
