In April 2021, Pic’s released its collaboration with a fellow iconic New Zealand brand, Whittaker’s: Pic’s Peanut & Chocolate Butter
It contained 76% peanuts and 20% Whittaker’s Give Roll Refined Creamy Milk and Dark Ghana Chocolate, along with a pinch of salt.
The result of this collaboration was as they intended: like a Whittaker’s Peanut Slab in a jar. The peanuts were still at the forefront, with a deep, nutty richness coming through from the head of each bite. The creamy notes of Whittaker’s chocolate followed with its signature hints of caramel sweetness and cocoa bitterness before a saltiness developed in the finish and deepened in the aftertaste along with a rich peanut flavour. There was no cloying quality to the peanut butter that’s present in more accessible brands, meaning we could (and do!) eat this straight out of the jar.
This Pic’s Peanut & Chocolate Butter contained 290 g. It was produced in New Zealand and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2021.
