Fujiya Country Ma’am Luxurious Chocolate

This is the Fujiya Country Ma’am Luxurious Chocolate, a soft-baked chocolate cookie featuring 10% more chocolate chips than the previous version. It contained 0.4% almonds, with chocolate chips containing 14% cocoa from Ecuador and Dutch cocoa incorporated into the cookie dough.

The package contained 12 individually sealed cookies, each presenting with a circular shape measuring 4 cm in diameter and 1.5 cm in height, with an even brown appearance. Aroma opened with rich chocolate notes.

After reheating in the microwave at 500 W for 20 seconds for five cookies, initial contact delivered an immediate rich chocolate profile. The cookies retained their crisp exterior before yielding to a loose, medium crumb and moist interior. The exterior cookie provided a rich cocoa presence with relatively restrained sweetness.

Through the mid-palate, the chocolate chips softened and melted into the crumb, adding creaminess, darker depth and sweetness while further hydrating the cookie. As the cookie hydrated, the almond paste in the dough provided a subtle nuttiness that enhanced the chocolate profile, becoming more prominent towards the finish. The softened crumb then resolved into a melt-in-the-mouth texture.

Overall, a soft-baked chocolate cookie with a rich, progressively deepening chocolate profile and integrated textural development, moving from a crisp cocoa-rich exterior into a moist, creamy centre and melt-in-the-mouth finish. The restrained sweetness of the cookie dough allowed the darker cocoa character to establish the opening profile, while melted chocolate and subtle almond nuttiness added depth towards the finish.

This Fujiya Country Ma’am Luxurious Chocolate contained 151 g (10.6 g x 12 pieces). It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2026.
