Hokkaidō Seika Minato no Oyatsu Uni Senbei

This is the Hokkaidō Seika Minato no Oyatsu Uni Senbei. The rice crackers used uni seasoning and were made from potato flour from Hokkaidō, sweet shrimp and Okhotsk sea salt.

The rice crackers had a golden yellow colour with black speckles, measuring about 4-5 cm in diameter and 2-3 mm in thickness. They emitted a slightly sweet and subtly spiced aroma reminiscent of curry. On tasting, they started with a touch of sweetness and then transitioned to a briny and umami-rich flavour similar to uni (sea urchin), followed by the ebi (shrimp) element. The seasoning on the crackers predominantly brought out the uni flavour, while the natural seafood notes in the ebi within the cracker added to the overall seafood taste. The balanced sweet and savoury taste of the uni seasoning differentiated these from regular ebi rice crackers and contributed to their deliciousness.

This Hokkaidō Seika Minato no Oyatsu Uni Senbei contained 40 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Ōsaka, Japan in 2023.
