This is the Kameda Seika Ageichiban Honey Soy Sauce, a type of fried rich cracker.
Each cracker was individually sealed and about 5 cm in diameter and 1 cm in thickness.
The cracker had a sweet honey and a lightly fried aroma. Upon tasting, a very firm crunch at the start of every bite was accompanied immediately by the mellow sweet-savoury quality of honey soy that developed to a deep umami quality by the end of the cracker. The interior of the cracker was not seasoned, yet it did not soften the richness of the honey soy glaze, though a hint of oil on the lips reminded us that this was a fried cracker. Overall, these were very enjoyable crackers with great crunch and an addictive sweet savoury flavour.
