This is the Meadows Potato Chips Mala Hot Pot.
These chips, despite appearing as thicker kettle-cut potato chips on the packaging, were thin-cut and coated with a fine red-brown seasoning, emitting an aroma of paprika and chilli. Upon tasting, the immediate presence of paprika notes persisted throughout the bite, accompanied by savoury soy tones mid-bite, and distinct flavors of garlic and onion. Despite the inclusion of Sichuan peppers as an ingredient, known for their fiery numbing spice in mala hot pot, there was no detectable numbing sensation on the palate. The flavour of chilli was present, but it lacked the expected heat, being dominated by the paprika. Overall, these chips were unsatisfying due to their thin-cut format and the weak delivery of the mala hot pot flavour.
