Lotte Choco Pie Earl Grey Milk Tea

This is the Lotte Choco Pie Earl Grey Milk Tea.

Each box contained six individually sealed pieces.

Each piece consisted of milk cream (7.4% milk solids) sandwiched between two slices of sponge cake infused with Earl Grey black tea leaf, then coated in dark chocolate. The cake showed visible flecks of tea leaf, and each piece measured roughly 6 cm in diameter and 2 cm in height, with a gentle yet distinct bergamot aroma.

On tasting, the chocolate coating provided initial structure but softened quickly, giving way to the sponge and cream within. The dark chocolate flavour appeared immediately, melting swiftly and releasing bright bergamot notes that created a fleeting resemblance to orange-flavoured chocolate. As the milk cream warmed on the palate, the fruity black tea character and soft bergamot tones emerged more clearly, while the loose crumb of the cake delivered a creamy melt-in-the-mouth finish. The Earl Grey profile remained delicate yet noticeably perceptible, adding a nuanced complexity without overwhelming the confection.

Overall, it offered an enjoyable interplay of chocolate, citrus, and tea elements, though the tea notes were gentler than anticipated.

This Lotte Choco Pie Earl Grey Milk Tea contained 183 g (30.5 g × 6). It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
