Mikan or mandarin flavoured foods hold a certain appeal that just doesn’t hold a light to orange or lemon flavoured foods. This Morinaga Hi-Chew Mikan is a tasty example.

Each piece is wrapped individually in foil paper and about 2 x 1 x 1 cm in size.

The surface is an opaque orange colour and surrounds an opaque white centre. On chewing, a zesty mikan flavour came through before a bright and juicy sweetness of mandarin flesh developed quickly to prominence with a typical citrus acidity and persisted throughout the chew. The overall flavour was incredibly true to the mandarin. As with all Hi-Chew, the texture of each piece is soft yet firm enough to hold its shape and without getting stuck in our teeth.
This Morinaga Hi-Chew Mikan contained 46 g or 10 pieces. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2018.
