This is the Morinaga Hi-Chew Premium Shine Muscat. It contained juice from Shine Muscat grapes.
The candy was elongated and spherical, approximately 1.5 cm in diameter, with a light pastel green hue. It featured an external coating infused with Shine Muscat, created using an “aroma foundation” manufacturing method, surrounding a taffy interior. The candy emitted a sweet Shine Muscat aroma.
Upon tasting, the powdered coating dissolved easily, offering a cool sensation on the palate and delivering an immediate sweet Shine Muscat flavour. Biting into the taffy centre released a juicier Shine Muscat flavour with subtle tropical acidity. With each chew, the aromatic Shine Muscat notes deepened, revealing mango-like sweet-sour tropical undertones into the finish.
Like regular Hi-Chew, these candies did not stick to the teeth. The intense yet authentic fresh flavours, combined with the juicy textures, provided a highly satisfying experience, offering a refined depth of flavour that made them worth repurchasing.
