Nippon Yell Candy Nagano Three Apple Brothers contains juice from three apple cultivars native to Nagano Prefecture: Akibae (48.15%), known for its well-balanced sweetness and acidity; Shinano Sweet (48.15%), valued for its juiciness; and Shinano Gold (3.7%), noted for its rich, complex flavour.

Each candy measured approximately 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, with an opaque yellow-green hue and a sweet apple aroma. On tasting, the apple flavour emerged immediately—subtle and layered rather than overly sweet or reminiscent of apple juice concentrate. The profile captured the light crispness of fresh apples, with a well-rounded sweetness and a hint of tropical brightness towards the finish, likely attributable to the Shinano Gold component. A faint viscosity and near-undetectable grit added texture to the candy.
Compared to the beverage version, which showcased greater juiciness and depth from the Shinano Gold, the candy presented a lighter, sweeter profile. Overall, the integration of these three distinct apple varieties was remarkably well-balanced and well worth purchasing.
