UHA Mikakutō Puccho Shikkou no Ichigō

This is the UHA Mikakutō Puccho Shikkou no Ichigō, made using the award-winning “Amarin” strawberries cultivated by Hiro Farm in Saitama Prefecture. The formulation included strawberry purée, freeze-dried strawberry, and strawberry seeds—each element contributing to an experience designed to evoke the complexity of eating the fresh fruit.

Each piece measured approximately 2.5 × 1.5 × 1 cm, with a rich pink exterior flecked with tan strawberry seeds and fragments of white freeze-dried strawberry. The centre was studded with darker red gummy inclusions. Upon opening the package, a vibrant strawberry aroma was immediately apparent—sweet, gently tart, and deeply aromatic, signalling the intensity of flavour to come.

The taste was vivid from the first bite. The initial flavour delivered a concentrated strawberry note with full-bodied sweetness balanced by a bright tartness, evoking the flesh of the fruit. The inclusion of seeds added a mild nutty crunch and helped modulate the otherwise smooth profile of the soft candy. The embedded gummy pieces offered a firmer, bouncier chew with a slightly more assertive tartness that played off the surrounding taffy’s mellow sweetness, enhancing the overall dimensionality. The interplay of textures—chewy, crunchy, and bouncy—reinforced the sensation of consuming real fruit in candy form.

The flavour concentration and textural layering surpassed even that of the Kyūshū regional strawberry Hi-Chew variant. This was a standout among strawberry confections: nuanced, aromatic, texturally dynamic, and convincingly fruit-forward. It is easily among the most accomplished strawberry-flavoured products encountered, notable for its balance and authenticity.

Overall, a richly aromatic, texturally layered strawberry taffy delivering a remarkably authentic representation of Amarin strawberry—among the best in its category.
