These Lindt Roulettes, Boule and Peimonte follow on from the earlier series on the Lindt Lindor available only at Lindt outlets.
Milk Hazelnut Boule
The Milk Hazelnut Boule is a ‘milk chocolate shell filled with a whole hazelnut’ made in Italy.
This one has a sweet, round chocolate flavour that complements the hazelnut, bringing out the nuttiness.
Dark Hazelnut Boule
The Dark Hazelnut Boule is a ‘dark chocolate shell with a hazelnut filling and a whole hazelnut’ made in Italy.
This one is a very dark chocolate with the hazelnut bringing pleasant relief by mellowing out the bitterness.
Roulettes Milk Chocolate and Cereal
Roulettes Milk Chocolate and Cereal is a ‘milk chocolate shell filled with a milk filling a crispy cereal ball’ made in Italy.
The chocolate is overly sweet, although the cereal brought a moreish texture that’s crispy rather than crunchy like the rest of the nutty flavours, yet contrasts well with the smooth innards.
Roulettes Fondant
The Roulettes Fondant is a ‘dark chocolate shell with a dark hazelnut filling’ made in Italy.
This one was richer and creamier than the boule above, making it more enjoyable. The hazelnut flavour was also more pronounced with prominent crunch when compared to the ordinary hazelnut Lindor. That said, the dark chocolate centre results in less of a smooth mouthfeel.
Roulettes Coffee
The Roulettes Coffee is a ‘dark chocolate shell with a coffee filling and a whole hazelnut’ made in Italy.
Here, the dark chocolate balances the sweetness of the coffee well. The flavour of the coffee was more prominent than in the ordinary coffee flavoured Lindor, with the whole nut bringing an enjoyable flavour with a light boozy flavour in the background.
Roulettes au Champagne
The Roulettes au Champagne is a ‘milk chocolate truffle filled with a milk Marc de Champagne ganache’ made in Italy.
This one smells boozy just on opening the wrapper and tastes bitter like alcohol. The flavour of the champagnes becomes more pronounced mid-bite along with the bitterness, making for a rather unpleasant overall experience.
Dark Hazelnut Creme
The Dark Hazelnut Creme is a ‘dark chocolate shell with an irresistibly smooth melting hazelnut centre’ made in Italy.
The hazelnut centre is impossibly smooth and strong in flavour, but pairs well with the super dark and slightly bitter chocolate. The hazelnut flavour lingered pleasantly on the palate. While the flavour here is strong, I prefer some texture overall this smoothness.
Roulettes Milk Chocolate and Walnut
The Roulettes Milk Chocolate & Walnut is a ‘milk chocolate shell filled with a walnut filling’ made in Italy.
This one has a very rich nutty aroma, almost like a sweet coffee. The flavour of the walnut also came through strongly as tiny crushed up pieces on tasting, like a maple caramelised walnut. We enjoy the texture and flavour of this one immensely.
Piemonte
Finally, the Piemonte is ‘Gianduja hazelnut milk chocolate with whole hazelnuts’ made in Italy.
The chocolate flavour here complements the hazelnuts, which are deliciously toasted and generous (there are two).
These Lindt Roulettes, Boule and Peimonte were 25 g each. They were produced in Italy and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2016.
