This is the Summerdown Dark Chocolate Peppermint Cream Dominoes.
Each box contained 18 ‘soft centred peppermint cream bars, infused with […] Black Mitcham peppermint oil and enrobed in the finest dark chocolate’. The dark chocolate contained cocoa solids 55% minimum.
Each domino measured approximately 6 x 3 x 0.5 cm and had an intense peppermint aroma. The dark chocolate exterior delivered a crisp snap, revealing a high-quality mint fondant with a pure, bright peppermint flavour. The sweetness was clear but didn’t rely on sugar to enrich the flavour, allowing the natural peppermint taste to shine. However, the dark chocolate to mint fondant ratio was higher than Nestlé’s After Eight, resulting in a less intense peppermint flavour as the chocolate lingered longer on the palate. However, we appreciated the smooth, rich taste of the quality chocolate. Overall, these peppermint chocolates were enjoyable, but we prefer After Eight for their higher ratio of mint fondant to dark chocolate.
