The upper portion resolved into a soft, gel-like squish, while the base maintained a firmer, more elastic chew, introducing resistance and extending the eating duration. This lower layer also contributed intermittent granular crunch, resembling fine sugar crystals or ice fragments as in kakigōri, reinforcing a cooling, refreshing effect. The mikan flavour emerged immediately from first chew, beginning with a rounded sweetness before developing into a more defined zesty and tangy profile. Sweetness remained controlled and integrated throughout, supporting rather than masking the citrus character. As the structure broke down, the gummy gradually dissolved, leaving a sustained, aromatic mikan finish. Repeated consumption revealed a mild numbing sensation on the tongue, indicating the presence of citrus oils.
Overall, a balanced citrus gummy with clear mikan expression and layered soft–firm textural contrast, supported by controlled sweetness and a lightly cooling finish.
