This is the Nippon Yell Gummy Hiroshima Sera Nashi, made with juice from Kosui and Toyosui pears cultivated in Sera Town, Hiroshima Prefecture. These “Sera Nashi” pears, grown at Sera Kosui Farm and Sera Daitō Farm, are distinguished by their high sugar content and pronounced sweetness, a result of the marked temperature variations during maturation.
Each gummy measured approximately 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, with an opaque yellow hue and a sweet, juicy nashi aroma. The outer gummy offered a tender, bouncy chew and, unlike other flavours in this series, lacked a softer, jelly-like core. Flavour emerged promptly with a mellow sweetness, progressing to a brighter, more refreshing character supported by moderate acidity through the mid-palate. The nashi flavour was vivid and persistent, striking a balance between sweetness and acidity that contributed to a more layered and complex taste than the Hosui pear variant.
The overall execution delivered a cleaner, more dynamic flavour profile with refreshing clarity and depth, making this variety particularly compelling and worth repurchasing.
