This is the Nippon Yell Gummy Hiroshima Sera Pear, made with juice from Sera nashi grown in Hiroshima Prefecture. “Sera pears” refer to Kosui and Hosui pears cultivated at Sera Kosui Farm and Sera Daito Farm in Sera Town. The significant temperature variation between day and night during ripening contributes to their high sugar content and pronounced sweetness.

Each gummy measured approximately 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, with an opaque yellow hue and a sweet nashi pear aroma.
On tasting, the exterior offered a mellow sweetness but lacked the gentle crunch of sugar crystals. It quickly gave way to the firm, bouncy texture of the gummy, which remained consistent throughout, unlike some flavours in this series that feature a softer, jelly-like core. By the second chew, the initial mellow sweetness deepened, releasing the crisp, honeyed notes of nashi pear. This intensified through mid-palate, culminating in a subtle, juicy tropical sweetness reminiscent of pineapple towards the finish. The refreshing balance of sweetness and acidity characteristic of Sera pears was well captured in these gummies, making them worth repurchasing.
This Nippon Yell Gummy Hiroshima Sera Pear contained 40 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
