This is the Lotte Watermelon Bar, first launched in 1986. It contained 0.1% watermelon juice concentrate.
The ice bar resembles a slice of fresh watermelon and boasts of retaining the ratio of the rind, flesh and seeds of the real fruit. Here, the pink ‘flesh’ delivered the sweet flavour of ripe watermelon with the chocolate peanut ‘seeds’ bringing pops of added sweetness and texture. The flavour was natural but subdued like fresh watermelon, so avoids overt artificiality, while the green ‘rind’ has a slightly tarter, yet still fruity flavour compared to the ‘flesh’, but itis not a flavour I can immediately place. Overall, this is a fun ice bar.
This Lotte Watermelon Bar contained 75 ml. It was produced in South Korea and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2020.
