They turn black forest, mint choc and coconut and lychee gelato flavours from Messina into Arnott’s Tim Tam biscuits and now they turn Arnott’s Caramel Crowns into ice cream with this Peters Arnott’s Caramel Crowns Ice Cream. We’ve come full circle.

This ice cream version takes the original ‘biscuit topped with caramel and covered in milk chocolate’ and turns it into a ‘caramel flavoured ice cream swirled with caramel sauce and chocolate coated biscuit pieces’.

We were expecting a chocolate, rather than caramel, ice cream base, probably as a result of wishful thinking. Initial disappointment aside, the caramel ice cream has a gritty mouthfeel when it melts and the swirls of caramel sauce added only more sweetness without adding any relief from the sweetness of the caramel ice cream. The star of the ice cream was the chocolate coated biscuit pieces, although they were more crumbly than crunchy and eventually merged with the gritty texture of the ice cream.
We would’ve enjoyed a more balanced take on Arnott’s Caramel Crowns.
