This Lupicia Amechan was a limited tea available exclusively from the Hanshin Department store in Umeda. This tea took inspiration from amechan, which refers to candy balls in Kansai.

It was a looseleaf decaffeinated black tea scented with lemon and strawberry, and topped with colourful sugar.

Steeping 3 g of looseleaf tea in 200 mL of 85ºC water for 3 minutes, the resulting infusion took on a clear, amber hue with a sweet aroma reminiscent of pink lemonade. Served hot, a gentle strawberry flavour graced the forefront of each sip, gradually evolving with a subtle hint of lemon in the body. The black tea base complemented these fruity notes with its inherent fruity caramel undertones, becoming more pronounced towards the finish with a slight lingering astringency, devoid of any bitterness. Despite the evident presence of both fruits, the tea refrained from leaning towards an overly sweet or sour profile, rendering this decaffeinated blend a refined and refreshing fruity tea suitable for any time of day.
This Lupicia Amechan contained 50 g. The tea was sourced from Sri Lanka, packaged in Japan, and purchased in Ōsaka, Japan in 2023.
