Darrell Lea Milk Chocolate Peanut Brittle Block

Darrell Lea followed hot on the heels of Arnott’s chocolate blocks with its own versions of their classic flavours in mid-2019. With their peanut brittle being one of our favourite from the range, it’s only natural that it’s our first choice of flavour for their blocks, so this here is Darrell Lea Milk Chocolate Peanut Brittle Block.

It contained 15% peanuts and 10% peanut brittle bound together with milk chocolate containing 31% cocoa.

The block has a toffee chocolate aroma with a rich peanut flavour coming through on tasting from both whole peanuts as well as crushed peanuts that have been set in hard toffee — that is, peanut brittle. The effect is a delicious nutty crunch that’s punctuated by the brittle pieces giving a crisper flavour and tingle that almost recalled popping candy as it melts. The chocolate melts to a creaminess that’s a step above the Cadbury but still below the quality of Whittaker’s. We’re firm fans.

This Darrell Lea Milk Chocolate Peanut Brittle Block contained 180 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
