We spotted a nachos pizza in the online catalogue and a quest for it at our local supermarket somehow ended with us not finding not the nachos pizza, but this Dr Oekter Ristonate Pizza Dolce Al Cioccolato.

This is a dessert pizza ‘topped with gooey chocolate sauce, milk chocolate flakes, dark and white chocolate chunks on their signature [Dr Oekter Ristorante’ crust.

The pizza is frozen and cooks at 200°C in a fan forced oven after 10-11 minutes.

A rich chocolate aroma fills the kitchen as the pizza bakes, but unfortunately, this dessert pizza doesn’t live up to the ones that are sold in places like Max Brenner. While the chocolate smelled good in the oven, it tastes like cheap chocolate, the marshmallows aren’t soft or fluffy, and the crust is ordinary, thin without much flavour – chocolate or otherwise – despite the colour.
For dessert pizzas, we’ll stick to eating out even if this one is a fraction of the price.
This Dr Oetker Ristorante Dolce Al Cioccolato contained 260 g. It was produced in the United Kingdom and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
