These are the Haribo Watermelon. Unlike the Gold Bears and various other gummies produced in Germany, these were artificially flavoured and produced in Turkey. To our surprise, though, these gummies lived up to the Haribo reputation.

These gummies were 3.5 x 2.5 x 1 cm in size with layers of light green ‘skin’, white ‘rind’ and red ‘flesh’ much like the real fruit and without much notable aroma of its own. Upon tasting, the white and green layers delivered a sweet and subtle watermelon flavour, while the red segment brought the bold flavour of the fruit with an initial sweetness that developed with a salivating acidity towards the finish as one continued chewing through.
While the artificiality of the watermelon flavour remained somewhat evident, the balancing acidity and Haribo’s usual addictive bouncy chewy made these very enjoyable gummy candies.
This Haribo Watermelon contained 117 g. It was produced in Turkey and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
