After a slew of apple ciders, we eased ourselves into an apple and pear cider, before reaching this Maggie Beer Heritage Pear Cider. It combines the sweetness of Beurre Bosc pears, the acidity of Red Sensation pears and the vibrancy of Duchess pears.

The cider is a golden yellow straw colour with a medium carbonation and a sweet pear nose. Consumed ice-cold, a bright sweetness came through in the head before a gentle acidity at the back of the body lifts the sweetness to leave a refreshingly sweet cider. The pear flavour in this cider is distinctly one of red, brown and yellow-skinned pears rather than the clearer and crisper flavour of Packham pears. This cider has a balanced sweetness without any harsh alcoholic notes, making it one of the easiest ciders to drink.
This Maggie Beer Heritage Pear Cider contained 330 ml. It was bottled in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
