This MaMa Ka’Z Deli Banana is our favourite banana bread. We first encountered it at the Harris Farm in Baulkham Hills mid-2017 before we decided the location was too inconvenient to return to and went on a wild goose chase for similar banana bread. Indeed, we tried banana bread from Woolworths, Coles and Just Bake only to fondly recall that first one from Harris Farm every time even though we’d forgotten the brand.

A few months later, we saw a truck emblazoned with MaMa Ka’Z on our way to work and that triggered D’s memory for the brand and my recollection of the Harris Farm located conveniently in Broadway. To top it off, we discovered that not only was it cheaper than we thought, but also cheaper than the other brands we’d tried.

The banana bread is made of 32% banana, which is a significant 6% more than those of other brands.

Toasted to a golden brown, the banana bread has a delicious buttery aroma with a texture and flavour that is hard to beat. The flavour was bright with banana notes against a rich buttery background, but the texture remains light, fluffy and moist. This combination makes it a pleasure to eat  – there’s something delicious about food that is rich yet light that keeps you eating and eating – without the need for an accompanying drink to cut through.

This loaf of MaMa Ka’Z Deli Banana contained 650 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
