This Mlesna Passionfruit Tea is one of the most balanced and enjoyable passionfruit flavoured teas.

The tea consisted of tea bagged Ceylon black tea fannings scented with passionfruit.

Steeping one tea bag in 200 mL of water at 85ºC for 2.5 minutes, the infusion was a clear red-brown colour with a fruity and mellow black tea aroma. Served hot, the tropical notes of passionfruit came through initially before developing with the natural sweetness of the black tea, and lingering with no astringency or bitterness into the finish. The overall flavour pairs the natural flavour of passionfruit with a mellow black tea that brought out the tropical notes of the passionfruit, allowing the tea to shine as a ‘passionfruit tea’.

This Mlesna Passionfruit Tea consisted of a 2 g tea bag. The tea originated in Ceylon and was received as a gift from a colleague visiting Sri Lanka in 2015.
