This Moccona Turkish Delight Dream Latte is the perfect sachet coffee to pick me up in the afternoon. It’s a sweet treat that’s low in caffeine with just 6% instant coffee.

It’s described as ‘a dreamy rosewater and rich cocoa experience finished off with thick velvety froth and dark cocoa curls’.

Each sachet contained a powdered coffee that’s mostly white (sugar and milk) with granules of dark brown (coffee) throughout.

Stirring in 150 mL of hot water, the coffee was a translucent pale brown colour with a sweet rosy chocolate aroma and a frothy top. Served hot, subtle notes of rosewater came through briefly with a sweet chocolate flavour ahead of the bolder, bitter notes of the coffee in the body. The rosewater notes return with a prominent sweetness in the finish and linger together with the cocoa for a pleasant bittersweet aftertaste.

Overall, the coffee delivered on the ‘Turkish delight’ well with a smooth (if thin) mouthfeel and rich flavour, but it’s not as creamy as promised. The addition of the chocolate curls rounds the bitterness of the coffee, shifting it squarely into dessert coffee territory with a pronounced sweetness. With or without the chocolate, it’s not the kind of coffee you want first thing in the morning.
