Napoleone Pear Cider

With a brand name like Napoleone you’d expect some tie to France, but this Napoleone Pear Cider has its origins in Australia despite its name and its elegant labeling.

The cider is a transparent pale straw colour with a clean alcoholic nose and moderate carbonation. Served chilled, the flavour of earthy ripe pears in the head developed with an acidity in the body ahead of a dry finish with mellow notes of spice, like ginger. Overall, the cider has round and dry flavour with a distinct lack of sweetness. While it’s dryness is a step up from beer, combined with the spice aftertaste its distinct flavour means it’s not something I’d readily reach for when I’m after a refreshing beverage.

This Napoleone Pear Cider contained 330 ml. It was bottled in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
