Following on from their Cola, this is the Phoenix Organic Lemon Lime & Bitters. D and I have our favourite – Angostura Lemon Lime and Bitters – but we’re still interested in trying other brands in the hopes of something interesting or different and even if only to confirm our firm favourite.

The soft drink was a translucent pale pink with a lightly sweet and crisp nose and moderate carbonation. Served chilled, a sweetness that reminds of fresh apple juice came through ahead of slight citrus notes developing in the body before a mellow bitterness reminiscent of bitters came through in the finish, leaving no aftertaste.

Overall, this lemon lime and bitters brought a surprising sweetness but lacked that depth and complexity of flavour that makes the Lemon Lime and Bitters by Angostura our firm favourite.

This Phoenix Organic Lemon Lime & Bitters contained 330 ml. It was produced in New Zealand and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
