Teas’ Tea New York Green & Red Apple Black Tea

20151018-DSC08337

Apple-flavoured teas have featured prominently in my collection of teas for the past five or so years. Yet, they all manage to taste somewhat different from each other, even if only slightly. Teas’ Tea New York Green & Red Apple Black Tea is one of the earlier apple-flavoured teas in my collection.

This tea gave the refreshing aroma and flavour of fresh apples when brewed for the one minute as suggested. It’s a very clean flavour with a good balance between the tea and apple flavour. The apple flavour lingered as an aftertaste with only a slight astringency from the black tea. While the label describes the tea as a mix of green and red apple, it’s not something I can distinguish, assuming green apples mean sour notes and red apples mean sweet notes. Overall, it’s a fresh and balanced tea that tastes like an unsweetened version of the same tea that comes bottled in vending machines in Japan.

This Teas’ Tea New York Green & Red Apple Black Tea contained 10 tea bags. The tea originated in Indonesia and was purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2011.
