Kazemaru Farm Nōka ga Hoshita Ringo Fuji

This is the Kazemaru Farm Nōka ga Hoshita Ringo Fuji, featuring semi-dried pieces of Fuji apples grown in Aomori Prefecture, the most widely cultivated apple variety in the region.

The pieces were wedge-shaped and varied in size from 2 to 2.5 cm at their widest. They ranged in colour from pale yellow to golden yellow, with some pieces retaining the deep red skin. The dried apple pieces emitted a distinct apple aroma, with a well-balanced sweetness and tartness.

On tasting, the pieces had a firm bite, with an almost crisp texture reminiscent of fresh apples. The apple flavour was immediate, developing into a rich, full-bodied sweetness with a touch of acidity that added vibrancy. The flavour peaked in the finish, closely resembling that of fresh Fuji apples. The balance of sweetness and acidity, combined with the retained ‘crunch,’ made these dried apples an excellent representation of the fresh fruit.

This Kazemaru Farm Nōka ga Hoshita Ringo Fuji contained 15 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Hirosaki, Japan in 2024.
