This is the Black Sugar Matcha from Gotcha (regular, $6.20, 1/4 ice, fixed sweetness). The drink featured black sugar pearls, topped with fresh milk and matcha. Consumed chilled, the drink had a strong dairy flavour that overshadows the vegetal notes from the matcha. Rather, the matcha tastes watery and cheap, without the bold and fresh flavour in the similar drink from The Alley. Matcha flavour aside, the pearls are chewy and add just enough sweetness to the drink.

With this drink, I’m beginning to think the only drinks worth purchasing from Gotcha are its original drinks, such as their Black Medlar Collagen and the Signature Herbal Jelly.
