This is the Coles Kitchen Butter Chicken Curry Bites. Each box contained eight bite-sized parcels of naan bread filled with butter chicken curry, each measuring approximately 4 cm in diameter. The composition included 79% naan bread, 19% butter chicken filling (of which 39% was chicken Maryland), and 1.5% butter.
Cooked from frozen in an air fryer, they turned golden brown in 10 minutes.

On tasting, the naan bread had a crisp exterior and was surprisingly light upon biting through, despite its thickness. However, its texture was more akin to a drier bread coating than the slightly springy quality of fresh naan. While enjoyable, it was somewhat dominant over the butter chicken filling, which had a recognisable spiced, creamy tomato flavour. The pieces of chicken were small, and the thick naan exterior, relative to the sauced interior, resulted in a lingering ‘doughy’ quality by the end of each bite. However, the sauce provided enough moisture to prevent dryness.
Overall, this was an enjoyable product worth trying, though not one to repurchase.
