Hawaiian Host Island Macs

This is the Hawaiian Host Island Macs. Hawaiian Host is the world’s largest manufacturer of chocolate-covered macadamias.

Each box contained 14 milk chocolate covered macadamia pieces, made with ‘small macadamia halves’.

Each piece measured approximately 4.5 x 2.4 x 1.5 cm and emitted a milk chocolate aroma. Upon tasting, the milk chocolate offered a firm crunch, but its thickness—about 0.8 cm on either side and 0.4 on top and bottom—meant subsequent chews were required before crunching through the macadamias. The chocolate was also slow to melt, resulting in continued crunching through both the chocolate and macadamia. While the chocolate delivered a decent milk chocolate flavour, avoiding a very low-quality taste, it did not melt to the velvety creaminess of high-quality chocolate. However, its subpar presence dominated each piece, leaving us longing for more macadamia flavour and prompting comparisons to the far superior execution found in the Al Nassma Chocolate Whole Nut Selection Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts and Whittaker’s Block Hazelnut.

This Hawaiian Host Island Macs contained 142 g or 14 pieces. It was produced in the United States and received as a gift from acquaintances in Sydney, Australia in 2023.
