This MannanLife Konnyaku Batake Unshū Mikan used juice from the unshū mikan, a mandarin most commonly grown in Ehime Prefecture.

The jellies were an opaque orange hue and packaged in individual heart-shaped plastic cups. A sweet mandarin aroma emanated from them. Upon tasting, the immediate presence of mandarin flavour was accompanied by the sweetness reminiscent of ripe mandarin juice. As the taste progressed, a pleasant acidity developed, gradually building to a refreshingly authentic mandarin fruit experience. A subtle hint of zestiness briefly emerged in the end, followed by a clean aftertaste. The jelly boasted a resilient konjac-like texture, slightly firmer than those found in Orihiro‘s jellies. In summary, the enjoyable qualities of these jellies were amplified by their resilient springy texture and invigorating, natural flavour.
