This is the Snowy Mountain Oriental Gardenia Green Tea & Coffee Blend with Coconut ($8.50, fixed ice, normal sweetness) from Tea & Co.
The beverage presented with a layered appearance, beginning with a pale, milky white base of gardenia green tea blended with coconut milk, transitioning upward into a deeper tan layer from the espresso shot, and finished with a cap of off-white snowy cheese foam.
When consumed chilled and well mixed, the snowy cheese foam proved to be the dominant element. Its pronounced dairy profile lingered on the palate and consistently overrode the more delicate floral notes of the gardenia. The green tea itself leaned noticeably astringent, and the coconut component was too restrained to meaningfully soften or round out that harshness. While the tea’s astringency did cut through some of the richness of the cheese foam, the interaction remained unbalanced, with neither element settling into a harmonious midpoint.
Overall, an ambitious combination undermined by disproportionate dairy intensity and insufficient integration of the tea and coconut elements, resulting in a drink that felt conceptually interesting but texturally and structurally unresolved.
