This is the C’est du Nanan Sōzen Latte, a signature green tea beverage crafted by the Japanese gluten-free atelier C’est du nanan.

Using organic, domestically grown Zen Mulberry Tea (kuwacha), the Sōzen Latte is naturally caffeine-free. The latte mix contained 53.3% whole milk powder from Hokkaidō and 11% mulberry leaf powder, sweetened with cane sugar. The powder presented as a vibrant medium green with fine darker green flecks throughout.

Prepared using 18 g of latte mix with 90–100 mL of hot water, the beverage presented with an opaque medium green hue with suspended fine green specks. Aroma opened with warm buttery notes reminiscent of matcha baked goods, although rounder and softer in character.
Initial contact delivered a gentle, mellow sweetness accompanied by a smooth, rounded grassy profile and a warm, creamy mouthfeel. The milk base contributed viscosity and body without introducing overt dairy richness, allowing the mulberry tea to remain the focus. Through the mid-palate, the fine powdered texture became perceptible on the palate, although it integrated well into the beverage and never proved distracting. The grassy notes gradually broadened into a soft vegetal sweetness, while the creamy body maintained a cohesive structure without becoming heavy. Towards the finish, the flavour lifted into a clean, refreshing aftertaste with only the faintest herbal dryness. Unlike traditional matcha, the mulberry tea remained free of pronounced astringency or assertive grassy bitterness, producing a notably gentle and soothing conclusion.
Overall, a powdered green tea latte with a layered flavour progression and integrated creamy mouthfeel, resulting in a soft, well-rounded beverage that highlights the mellow character of kuwacha.
