This is the Nippon Yell Gummy Ibaraki Ibarakiss, made with purée from the Ibarakiss strawberry, an original variety cultivated in Ibaraki Prefecture. Noted for its elevated sugar content, balanced acidity, and full-bodied flavour, the Ibarakiss is regarded as a premium strawberry cultivar of the region.

Each gummy featured an opaque pink-red hue, measuring approximately 2 cm across and 1 cm high, and released a sweet, rich strawberry aroma on opening. The outer layer was firm and elastic, yielding smoothly to a soft, jelly-like centre. The flavour profile began with the deep, concentrated sweetness of the jelly, soon accompanied by a gentle acidity from the outer layer. While the initial impression was of pronounced sweetness, it was rounded by a mild tang that provided just enough contrast to prevent the flavour from becoming overly jammy. The richness of the strawberry persisted across the tasting experience, culminating in a lingering aftertaste with subtle jam-like notes.
